On behalf of the Colleges and Universities of Minnesota State (the subscriber), MOQI will implement and manage a course peer review process that is recognized by Quality Matters.
Faculty seeking to have an online or blended course formally reviewed are encouraged to work with their institution’s QM Coordinator to ensure all steps are followed in getting the review requested and scheduled, the course prepared, and the fee encumbered. Courses that meet standards as a result of the peer review will be nationally recognized by Quality Matters as having met standards and will receive the QM seal. Read more about the MOQI-Managed Course Review Process. Applications are submitted on a continuous basis.
The cost of a MOQI-managed official review in FY19 is $800. Review subsidies are available to all Minnesota State affiliate-institutions to reduce the cost of some of the reviews that are submitted. (Alternate format reviews or recertification reviews, which are also managed by MOQI, are $400.)
Minnesota State Review Subsidies
Minnesota State has provided a limited budget to subsidize or pay for 50% of the cost of some MOQI-managed QM reviews. Subsidized reviews will be distributed among the Minnesota State QM-affiliate institutions. Institutions can submit up to four courses at the reduced rate (a minimum of two reviews must be submitted for fall review). Review subsidies that are not used will be redistributed among participating institutions on a first come, first served basis after the January review application deadline.
It is strongly suggested that faculty submitting a course for an official review first complete the Applying the Quality Matters Rubric workshop. Courses submitted for an official QM course review must have been taught a minimum of two semesters online.
College, University or Department
Colleges or universities (or departments or programs) wishing to pay the full cost of the review can contract directly with MOQI to have one or many courses reviewed.
We want faculty from Minnesota State institutions to be our primary reviewers.
Help us build the QM expertise in the state by becoming a Peer Reviewer!
