Using QM for Accreditation Processes

Author: Hamid Kazeroony, Inver Hills Community College

Regardless of whether you are looking down the road for your programmatic or institutional accreditation reaffirmation, Quality Matters (QM) standards can help document your systematic approach for all your online/hybrid courses as a part of your accreditation review process. QM standards 1, 5, 6, 7, and 8, once complied with, can provide programmatic and/or institutional commitment to student support, retention, and success which are normally reviewed by accrediting site visit teams. Also, QM standards 2, 3, and 4 provide any accrediting body with evidence of your systematic effort  to create and align course objectives, activities, and assessments based on your program and/or institutional requirements.

Dr. Kazeroony teaches online courses in the Business department at Inver Hills Community College.  In addition to serving as a Master Reviewer, he has two QM Certified courses:  Principles of Marketing & Entrepreneurship And Small Business Management
